Gordon Rush, CEO
The true cornerstone of this company is founder, Gordon Rush, who has anchored us for 22 years, and whose leadership is paramount to our success.
Since 1987, Gordon’s experience has spanned all aspects of construction, including land acquisition and development of commercial projects in the Puget Sound Region. He contributes an extensive range of knowledge about site and project feasibility, site development, and value engineering and always employs a hands-on approach to management. His ability to provide creative solutions to difficult design and budgetary issues leads to profitable projects. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Western Washington University.
Matt Smith, President
Matt is the President of Rush where his primary focus is property acquisition, financing, marketing, leasing, and the management of all current and future real estate developments. Matt first joined Rush Companies in 1992 as a field technician. After graduating from Washington State University with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1997, Matt was a pilot with Alaska Airlines for seven years. In addition, during that time Matt had his own real estate development and investment business. He joined Rush again in May 2007.
Chris DeWald, Vice President, Construction
Chris joined our team in 2002. With over 20 years experience, Chris’ resume includes experience in nearly every type of commercial construction, from public works and utilities projects to interior tenant improvements. Having received his Bachelors of Science Degree in Construction Engineering and Management from Purdue University, Chris has proven himself to be an excellent resource for strategic planning, value engineering and technical support. Chris has overall responsibility for a staff of project managers and superintendents who provide estimating, subcontract negotiations and contract management. Chris works closely with the design team to establish preliminary budgets, monitor design development and provide constructability review through the pre-construction process.
Jarrod Fenberg, Vice President, Business Development
Jarrod has over 15 years of experience in project management, construction management, owner’s representation, and real estate development. He has an extensive history of working as a manager for design/build projects and in the development/construction of medical buildings throughout Western Washington including: dental clinics, general health facilities, surgery centers, laboratories, medical office buildings, plus complex diagnostic and treatment facilities. Jarrod’s broad base allows him insight for making critical decisions throughout a project’s timeline. He has a comprehensive understanding of how each decision impacts the project, and can identify how to lead his team directly toward client goals.
Jarrod works closely with the owners, designers, subcontractors, and developers to assure that each project’s construction goals meet or exceed financial, marketing, and design expectations. His experience encompasses both public and private projects; both commercial and industrial. Jarrod holds a Bachelors of Science in Construction Management from the University of Washington.
